Business owner? Unlock life benefits with an Amex Business Platinum

This year, I had a life experience using of my Membership Rewards points to fly long haul in business class. Here are more reasons why you should look into the Amex Business Platinum benefits if you run a business.

It took a while to get the points, but I finally spent them flying in business from Peru to London on my way back (and “only” business London to Madrid, then Premium economy from Madrid to Lima on the way in). I would never pay for business class. Or maybe one day when I will be rich…

Amex Business Platinum Card invitation UK – 2024 Update

This month, Amex runs a promotion. You can get up to 85,000 points with this Amex Business Platinum reward invitation, and that’s enough for a business long haul.

LIMITED TIME OFFER: You receive a huge 120,000 Membership Rewards points if you apply for American Express Business Platinum by 9th April 2024. You receive 80,000 points for spending £12,000 within 90 days and a further 40,000 points if you retain the card for 14 months. Click here to apply.

SPECIAL OFFER: You receive 60,000 Membership Rewards points if you apply for American Express Business Gold by 9th April 2024. Remember that the card is FREE for the first year. You receive 40,000 points for spending £6,000 within 90 days and a further 20,000 points if you retain the card for 14 months. Click here to apply.

Here are the terms and conditions:

“Once approved, the referred business will get 85,000 bonus points as a new Cardmember if they spend £12,000 in the first 3 months of Card membership. That’s £380 to spend at some of their favourite brands like Amazon and British Airways if they Pay with Points. They could also earn an extra 40,000 points if they make a purchase between months 14 to 17 of Card membership.”

To get the extra 40,000, you need to keep the card for more than one year. I had mine for 4 years now, not dropping it. The main perks in my case are the airport (and Eurostar) lounge access (+1 included) and the travel insurance worldwide. I make use of Dell.co.uk £150 credits per year as well. However, I don’t care much about expensive hotel tiers and magazine subscriptions. Previously, I wrote about the cost of Amex Business Platinum worth for freelancers and contractors.

Use your business to bring perks in your life, otherwise what’s the point of being a business owner?

Even without the welcome bonus, it is worth it for perks, spending £12000 is too much for contractors. I never spend those in my 3 months as a freelancer. I tried to pay my corporation tax using a third-party service, but that didn’t work.

However, if you run a small business, you could maybe pay your office rent a few months in advance. Combine this with a few MacBooks for a small team, the bill will go up and fast…

I put everything I can through that card, the card is a business expense. It’s always better than direct payment, as it adds security. I used the Amex Business Platinum travel insurance once with a flight cancellation. And you can request as many cards as employees, making employee expenses more points for you.
